Now that you’ve started to determine which colors work for you and what characteristics they share, it’s time to begin your Style File, starting with your color palette.

  • color type

  • body type

  • core style

  • the wardrobe framework

  • wardrobe editing

  • fit + measurements

  • silhouette + proportion

  • color story

  • texture

  • multidimensional style

  • conflict + balance

  • full outfits

At the end of the day, your color type is a tool, not a rule.

But, it can seriously help if you’re struggling to build a color palette that is cohesive and harmonious with your natural beauty.

🎹 Creating Your Color Palette

You don’t need to wait until you’ve confirmed your exact color type to start building a color palette that works. In fact, you’ve already started. If you've been keeping your Color Journal, you're already halfway there.

There are 5 easy steps you can use to build a pleasing and practical color palette for your capsule wardrobe.

Step 1: Shop Your Closet

Step 2: Identify Your Color Characteristics

Step 3: Eliminate Outliers

Step 4: Choose Supporting Colors

Step 5: Select Your Neutrals

If you’ve been following along with the exercises thus far, you’ve already accomplished Step 1 and Step 2!

📝 Starting Your Style File

If you’re an organization lover like me, you may already be a lover of Notion. It seems like the whole internet is OBSESSED. And I am too.

So, I’m super excited to share my own personal collection of styling resources with you via Notion!

If you’d like to use the Style File Notion template throughout this course:

  • Free subscribers can purchase it here for $17

  • Paid subscribers can grab it for free at the link below

You can even download Notion on your phone to access your Style File and color palette whenever you need it.

💡 Remember: your color palette is a living document. It can evolve, and it should! The Style File Notion template makes it easy to update your palette any time.

Although I think the Style File will be a super valuable tool, I want to stress that it is completely optional. If you aren’t tech savvy, or if you just prefer to go your own way, don’t worry! You will be able to complete the course and all the exercises without using the Style File.

If you’d rather start your own Style File, get creative! Find a cute journal and use magazine clippings, paint, or even printed swatches from my seasonal color guides to create your visual color palette.
